Location: Fremont, CA

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Hardware Engineering to lead the development, integration, and production of hardware systems across our next-generation electric RV platform. You will be responsible for scaling a high-performing engineering team, driving hardware system architecture, and delivering production-ready solutions that meet functional, safety, and quality standards. This is a critical leadership role that will shape not only our product roadmap but also the broader direction of our hardware engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-caliber hardware engineering team through all phases of development—from concept to production.
  • Define and evolve the hardware architecture for Pebble’s electric RV platform, including both high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
  • Drive execution of hardware development programs, ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and alignment with company goals.
  • Oversee validation and testing of hardware components and systems, ensuring production readiness and system reliability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, systems integration, mechanical, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to enable seamless product development and launch.
  • Identify technical risks and lead resolution efforts through hands-on problem-solving and cross-functional coordination.
  • Establish and manage project budgets, resource plans, development timelines, and vendor relationships.
  • Contribute to long-term hardware roadmap planning in alignment with strategic product and technology objectives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the hardware team.

Required Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of hardware engineering experience, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership or people management capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience bringing high-complexity hardware products to market—ideally in electric vehicles, automotive, aerospace, or consumer robotics.
  • Deep technical expertise in both high-voltage and low-voltage system design, development, and validation.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex hardware development cycles from prototype to mass production.
  • Strong understanding of electric drivetrains, power electronics, embedded systems, and hardware-software integration.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity startup or early-stage product development environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of building trust and alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; Master’s degree preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in vehicle systems or off-road mobility platforms.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, ISO 26262, and relevant safety and compliance standards.
