Responsibilities

An SP+ Cashier creates an efficient, stress-free, and enjoyable experience for each customer. This includes receiving payment for parking services and facilitating the flow of traffic through the facility by performing the following duties:

  • Treat each customer with respect and kindness, delivering on the SP+ Promise of making every moment matter.
  • Be at work on scheduled days, on time, in uniform, and ready to assist customers.
  • Count the starting bank of revenue at the beginning of the shift to ensure accuracy.
  • Collect cash and/or validations and maintain cash security.
  • Make change and issue receipts or tickets for each transaction.
  • Compute or recompute the bill from the ticket showing amount due per customer.
  • Operate the cash register, either manually or by machine, and display the cost of the customer transaction.
  • Quote prices for parking services for which money is received upon customer receipt.
  • Provide directions to city locations and assist customers in reaching their destination efficiently.
  • Complete lost ticket forms when original tickets cannot be located.
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently, seeking supervisor assistance when needed.
  • Answer telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Maintain booth cleanliness and pick up surrounding area trash.
  • Conduct timely checks to ensure inventory of necessary work aids and supplies is available in the booth.
  • Verify log of shift transactions against the bank of revenue on hand.
  • Compile a daily bank of collected revenue after reaching a predetermined amount.
  • Record amounts received, cars in/out of facility, and cars remaining in the facility while preparing shift reports.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

What you need

  • Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Availability to Work: Special shift requirements may vary by location. Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be required.
  • License Requirement: A valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record if the role may involve driving a company vehicle or company business.
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, make change.
  • Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to customers and colleagues.
  • Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense and follow detailed but standard instructions; handle problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Other skills and abilities: Ability to use a clock, calculator (optional), or credit card machine to handle transactions; maintain a pleasant demeanor when speaking with the public; respond effectively to customer problems or complaints.
  • Physical demands: Regularly sit and use hands; occasional walking and standing; close vision required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Salary Range

$22.00 per hour
