Accounting Manager Job at Champion Homes in Troy

Overview

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our corporate team at the Troy, MI office.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department
• Lead month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations
• Drive process improvement and automation initiatives
• Manage financial reports, forecasts, and annual budgets
• Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, and government regulations
• Coordinate with auditors and cross-functional teams (AR, AP, Treasury)
• Train and manage accounting staff
• Support Oracle close process and reporting implementation
• Maintain centralized accounts payable and vendor reconciliation
• Handle tax resale certificates and unmatched receiving reports

What You Bring

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor's preferred)
• 4-7 years of accounting leadership experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial close processes
• Advanced Excel and analytical systems knowledge
• Experience with payroll, AP, AR, and tax compliance
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Proven ability to lead, train, and develop teams
• Ability to travel up to 10%
