Overview

We’re hiring a strategic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead revenue operations and controls for a leading organization. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in ASC 606, strong experience in risk auditing, and a solid understanding of commodity-based transactions.

Base pay range: $140,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Location: Northbrook, IL (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite: Tuesday–Thursday)

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 base + up to 30% bonus

Start Date: Late October or Early November

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations with a focus on ASC 606 compliance and accurate financial reporting.
• Interpret legal agreements and assess their impact on revenue recognition and transaction flow.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Credit, Legal, Product Management, and Supply Chain.
• Support audits, internal controls, and compliance reviews.
• Drive process improvements by analyzing transaction lifecycles and identifying risks.
• Train teams on accounting principles and systems (SAP S4 Hana, Salesforce).
• Evaluate commodity contracts and pricing agreements for financial impact.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of experience including management and cross-functional project work.
• Proven expertise in ASC 606—implementation, auditing, and operationalization.
• Strong systems skills: Excel, PowerPoint, SAP S4 Hana, Salesforce.
• Ability to read and interpret legal and transactional documents.
• Curious mindset with a focus on business impact beyond journal entries.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commodity-based industries or manufacturing.
• CPA preferred
• Background in public accounting or internal audit.
• Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with risk auditing frameworks and SOX controls.
