The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial reporting. This role also plays a key part in maintaining a strong internal control environment with clearly documented processes and procedures. The company operates on a hybrid model, 3 days in the office.
Key Objectives
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reporting packages, offering clear, actionable insights for leadership decision-making
- Perform in-depth financial statement analysis and respond to ad hoc reporting needs
- Partner with department leaders to develop reporting on client profitability and uncover cost optimization opportunities
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to drive greater efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across accounting functions
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and tax compliance
- Approve weekly disbursements and maintain current cash flow forecasts to support financial planning
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting financial schedules
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GAAP standards
- Develop detailed financial reports and variance analyses, highlighting trends, root causes, and actionable recommendations
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic business decisions
- Participate in monthly financial reviews with department leaders, offering insights and guidance
- Evaluate and refine accounting procedures, maintaining strong internal controls and proper documentation
- Mentor and develop accounting team members through performance management, goal setting, and professional development
- Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and complete preparation of all required documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
- Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience in a service-based business environment strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- Strong analytical mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement
