Litigation Secretary, Labor & Employment
Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a reputable Labor and Employment firm to identify a Litigation Legal Secretary for their San Francisco office. This is a full-time opportunity offering a hybrid schedule (three days in office, two days remote). The Legal Secretary will provide legal and administrative support to a partner and two associates, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism in all aspects of litigation support.
Base pay range
$90,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Draft, revise, and finalize correspondence, pleadings (including tables of authorities), memoranda, and court forms
- Coordinate and manage conflicts checks, new matter openings, and conflict waivers
- Arrange and prepare for depositions, hearings, and meetings
- Perform e-filing in administrative, state, and federal courts
- File and serve pleadings and other documents timely (electronically and via messenger)
- Maintain and organize both physical and electronic files in accordance with firm policies
- Manage multiple calendars, appointments, and travel arrangements
- Prepare travel and expense reimbursements
- Maintain expertise in Microsoft Word, including formatting, styles, TOC/TOA generation, and redline comparisons
- Facilitate document productions and maintain client files
- Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and attorneys
- Handle docketing and calendaring responsibilities (no separate docketing department)
- Assist attorneys and team members with general administrative support as needed
- Perform additional tasks as requested
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Secretary
- Strong knowledge of state and federal filing procedures, including e-filing
- Calendaring experience required
- Subpoena experience is a plus
- Proficiency with Compulaw preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Team player who enjoys a collaborative, social office environment
- Stable work history with good tenure
Top three must-haves
- Strong litigation experience (other practice areas welcome if litigation is included)
- Team-oriented personality - enjoys engaging with colleagues
- Recent calendaring and filing experience in both state and federal courts (subpoena experience a plus)
