Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer serves as a strategic thought partner and hands-on financial leader, overseeing all aspects of Housing Matters\' fiscal management. The CFO will guide the organization\'s financial strategy, ensure operational excellence, and play a vital role in shaping long-term organizational growth and stability. You\'ll lead a talented finance team and partner closely with the CEO, Executive Team, and Board Finance Committee to ensure that Housing Matters\' resources are aligned with its mission and strategic goals. Position Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the Executive Team, providing strategic leadership and financial insight. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes. Oversee grants and contract management, fund accounting, and audit coordination. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for internal stakeholders, donors, and regulatory agencies. Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment strategies. Update and enhance accounting policies, systems, and controls. Act as staff liaison for the Finance and Administration Committee of the Board. Partner across departments to strengthen financial transparency, efficiency, and accountability. What you will bring
Bachelor\'s degree plus 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 6 years in financial leadership. Experience in nonprofit financial management, fund accounting, and grant compliance strongly preferred. Demonstrated success managing budgeting, forecasting, and audit functions in a mission-driven organization. Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative, mentoring leadership style. Comfort with cloud-based financial systems; Sage Intacct experience is a plus. Preferred Experience
