Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a senior wastewater engineer with at least 12 years of experience to join our Bay Area offices. Candidate will be involved with a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects, focusing on treatment process design and construction. In addition to the technical requirements, the position requires experience with project management or the desire to grow into a project management role. The position includes client development and management, supported by our local offices. The position can be based in any of the Northern California offices from San Francisco, Concord, or Sacramento, and can serve across the northern California region depending on project needs and expertise. Responsibilities

Develop technical treatment strategies, select treatment processes, develop process design criteria, and deliver projects. Support and develop proposal development. Identify, hire, supervise, and mentor junior wastewater staff. Coordinate directly with clients. Collaborate with internal technical specialists and discipline design professionals for project delivery. Manage projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements. Follow Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients. Assume technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small to medium projects. Perform planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation. Evaluate progress of project staff and results, recommending changes to achieve project objectives. Qualifications and Skills Required

Experience delivering projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams. Experience in planning, design, and construction for water and wastewater treatment facilities. Proficient in all MS Office software. Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies. Self-starter with attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Ability to present complex issues to nontechnical audiences. Preferred Skills

Greater than 12 years of experience with wastewater treatment projects for clients is preferred. Education/License Required

Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Civil, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in California (preferred in civil engineering). Preferred Credentials

A Master’s Degree or PhD in Civil/Environmental Engineering is a plus. Benefits
