Your New Role

As a Research Analyst on the Player Insights team, you’ll be instrumental in helping our marketing and games teams better understand our players and how to delight them with our games. You’ll work across a range of quantitative research methods—from foundational survey analysis to advanced techniques like clustering, conjoint, and MaxDiff—to help decode player motivations, preferences, and behaviors.

Role Accountabilities Survey Data Analysis & Execution

Clean and structure raw datasets from internal and vendor-led surveys

Generate banner tables, cross-tabs, and statistical summaries

Write scripts for automating data processing tasks and generating reproducible outputs

Develop analysis plans aligned to business questions and stakeholder needs

Conduct statistical testing (e.g., t-tests, chi-square, ANOVA)

Intermediate Quantitative Methods

Apply intermediate techniques such as:

Clustering (e.g., k-means, hierarchical)

Conjoint analysis and MaxDiff scaling

Segmentation modeling and factor analysis

Tool Proficiency

Use statistical software such as R, Python, SPSS, SAS, Q, or Matlab

Work with survey platforms like mTab, Suzy, Qualtrics or Toluna Start

Insight Development

Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights

Create visualizations, dashboards, and presentations for cross-functional teams

Support the development of player archetypes and attitudinal segments

Collaboration & Project Management

Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure high-quality research execution

Maintain organized documentation and contribute to research knowledge management

Qualifications & Experience 2+ years of experience in market research, consumer insights, or analytics

Strong statistical and analytical skills, with comfort handling large datasets

Proven ability with handling missing data, recoding variables, and preparing respondent-level datasets for analysis

Understanding and application of survey design principles (e.g., skip logic, quotas, weighting) and advanced quantitative techniques

Familiarity with entertainment, gaming, or tech industries preferred but not required

Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize findings for non-technical audiences

Passion for understanding players and gaming culture

The Nice to Haves Experience managing market research vendors

Experience conducting research for mobile games and premium games

Personal experience (as a player) across a variety of game genres, including those in which WB Games has released titles.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $59,850.00 - $111,150.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
