Overview
The FX SPOT Trader is a senior level position responsible for overseeing a trading book and managing book risk, in coordination with the Trading team. The objective is to ensure the trader delivers on budgeted revenues and to coordinate with key stakeholders to develop the trading franchise. We are looking for a multi-faceted and highly resourceful individual who is adept at strategic risk-taking and can make a significant impact on our portfolio. Responsibilities
Oversee a trading book as a Senior trader, generate revenues and manage risk for the FX SPOT business. Build and maintain a franchise and connect with key clients. Coordinate with Sales, Research, and other organizations across Markets & Securities Services and the broader business. Trade a book and deliver on budgeted revenues while managing book risk, directly impacting portfolio performance. Establish and maintain key relationships to deliver market share to the desk. Anticipate client demand in each product/market and facilitate large client trades. Coordinate with desk analysts as needed and partner with Sales, Traders, and other team members to develop the franchise and manage and mentor junior traders as needed. Lead governance and controls: Work with control functions (Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance) to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure. Build a culture of responsible finance, governance, supervision, expense discipline, and ethics. Assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions with regard to the firm's reputation. Adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services. Follow all policies and procedures as defined by your role. Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses required for your role within the appropriate timeframe. Qualifications
8+ years of experience minimum for VP level consideration; 12+ years for Director level consideration. In-depth knowledge of respective products and clients. Proven history of successful trading book management while evaluating risk. Voice trading experience a plus. Clear and concise written and verbal communication. Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong partnerships with Sales Traders and the broader team. Ability to analyze and pitch situations and determine suitable counterparties. Knowledge of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, and closing technicalities. Required licensing and registrations as applicable. Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred. The advertised job description and salary range are in line with a Director level Trader unless otherwise specified. Job Details
