Review and prepare federal and state tax returns for private equity funds, management companies, and related entities. Analyze partnership agreements to determine proper tax treatment of complex transactions. Manage tax compliance and reporting processes for private equity clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Research and interpret complex tax regulations and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with fund accounting teams to reconcile tax and financial data. Support clients and partners during audits, responding to inquiries and preparing documentation. Mentor and review work of junior associates to support their professional development. Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and enhance accuracy in tax reporting. Interact directly with clients to gather information, address inquiries, and provide proactive tax guidance. What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred. 2+ years of public accounting or private equity tax experience. Strong understanding of partnership taxation and related reporting requirements. Experience preparing and reviewing Forms 1065, K-1s, and related schedules. Familiarity with private equity structures and investment types (e.g., portfolio companies, carried interest, management fees). Proficiency with tax compliance software (e.g., GoSystem, CCH Axcess, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Client-facing experience with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
