Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO)
Join GoHealth Urgent Care as an urgent care physician. You will independently perform a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections, and are responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostics and therapeutic procedures for patients.
Job Responsibilities
Examine and treat patients
Take patients’ medical histories
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays
Make diagnoses and prescribe medications
Treat minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
Record progress notes for follow-up patients
Educate and counsel patients
Order and/or carry out therapy with patients
Give vaccinations and refer patients to additional care
Supervise GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented for supervision
Act as a Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs in the credentialing process, including signoff of the PA/NPs delineation of privileges (DOP)
Each provider will work an anticipated 8 or 12 hours per shift
All other duties as assigned
Education
Graduate of an accredited medical school (required)
Work Experience
2–5 years of post‑residency clinical experience (required)
Minimum 18 months experience in an applicable practice setting (required)
Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
Active state medical licensure
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required)
Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Preferred)
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
Strong communication and customer service skills
Attentive listening skills
