As a

Web Software Developer for Gateway , you will support NASA JSC Engineering’s EX5 Branch.

The Toolchain team will ensure that all required artifacts are in place, track them efficiently, and develop web tools needed to store, access, and report on Gateway artifacts.

Responsibilities

Full‑stack development, including front end, middleware, and database.

Work with multiple languages and frameworks.

Design and develop REST APIs.

Integrate database solutions such as MongoDB.

Provide troubleshooting for nontrivial applications.

Collaborate with a diverse, distributed team.

Maintain professional relationships with the NASA customer, other NASA support contractors, and the Gateway HALO team.

Coordinate support between engineering and other organizations/programs.

Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area.

Experience collecting and understanding stakeholder needs.

React experience strongly desired.

JavaScript/TypeScript mandatory.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).

Strong communication, collaboration, and coordination skills.

Self‑starter who can absorb new concepts quickly.

Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with limited supervision.

Proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency may be required.

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Preferences

On‑site availability preferred; remote work may be considered.

Previous experience working with NASA.

Node.js and Docker experience.

Ability to configure personal environment using Docker.

Experience with CM tools such as DNG (DOORs Next Gen) or Windchill.

Experience with SE&I requirements or verification workflows.

Essential Functions & Work Environment Generally an office environment, but may involve inside or outside work depending on tasks. Physical requirements include sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time) and lifting up to 25 lbs. (5% of time). Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.) is provided. Regular attendance and the ability to work outside normal schedule when required are critical. Professional behavior, appropriate grooming, and a safety‑risk‑free dress code are mandatory.
