Job Description Duties: Interact with the Product Owner and the Tech Partner. Leverage the guidance in the Product Architect Charter for the role. Create the target state(s) of the product that is forward‑looking and ensures alignment to the product's business strategy. Represent the end‑to‑end architecture of the product and the rationalization of the assets owned or used by that product ensuring clear domain boundaries. Ensure adherence to JPMorgan Chase & Co. and firm‑wide architecture standards/guidance. Communicate the architecture runway, i.e., the technology investments needed to get to the target state in increments. Communicate the sequence of technology investments, the associated dependencies and risks, to meet the Consumer and Community Banking Line Of Business (CCB) product/business objectives as well as the target state architecture. Review the delivered solutions to ensure compliance with the architecture and technology strategy, as described in the runway. Ensure design decisions are made in a strategic context; when tactical decisions need to be made, ensure the product leadership is managing its technical debt. Conduct any needed architecture assessments. Present solutions to support the Product Owner in their planning and prioritization in their roadmap. Communicate any cross‑product impacts, i.e., what is needed from other products, so the Product Owner understands any dependencies on other products' roadmaps. Create architecture designs for architecturally significant items.
Qualifications Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Development, or a related field of study plus 7 years of experience as an Architect, Designer, Developer, or related occupation.
Relevant skills: Designing fault‑tolerant, resilient systems leveraging circuit breakers and bulkheads; end‑to‑end security including data at‑rest and in‑transit encryption; core services and functionalities including compute engines, cloud database services, and storage; integration services including API gateways for at least one of the following: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud; architectural patterns such as Model‑View‑Controller and clean architecture; coding in Java or Python; designing applications for cloud environments and leveraging cloud architectural patterns (event‑driven architecture, microservices, and serverless architecture); microservice architecture for loosely coupled services; API design and management tools including AWS API Gateway and Apigee; Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and management; relational database management systems including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL; native cloud‑based database services such as Amazon RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Azure Cosmos DB; working in Agile development environments (Scrum and Kanban).
