Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
Take ownership and lead design of efficient, high‑quality, and scalable Android apps that support Civil and Defense customers.
Support the design, development and deployment of services to integrate highly technical sensors into a web‑based Command and Control (C2) platform.
Translate complex business requirements into software solutions that offer high availability, reliability, and performance.
Collaborate closely with multi‑disciplinary engineers in the USA and Australia.
This is a hybrid role with the option to work remotely some days when not required in‑office.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
BS degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
4 to 8 years of experience in Android application development.
XML Views experience.
Familiarity with embedded systems and the challenges involved in integrating Android applications with hardware.
Familiarity with Android SDK, Gradle/Groovy, and establishing build environments and pipelines.
Experience with gRPC or protobuf format is required.
General API integration & design experience.
Strong networking and scripting experience is required.
Experience with Unix/Linux environments, developing large software systems, microservice infrastructure and/or security software development.
Comfortable working with customers and partners to communicate solutions to complex problems.
Favorable Skills and Experience
Experience developing TAK plugins.
Previous defense industry experience.
Previous start‑up or scale‑up experience.
