Overview
Formulation Specialist (Nutraceutical) – Formulation Specialist(Nutraceutical) role focusing on developing and optimizing formulations for soft gels, powders, and liquids from concept through commercialization. Responsible for product quality, stability, and regulatory compliance while collaborating across departments to bring health products to market. Responsibilities
Design and develop new formulations for soft gels, powders, and liquid supplements. Conduct bench-scale trials and scale up processes for commercial production. Resolve formulation and processing challenges in partnership with Operations and QA/QC. Support regulatory documentation including supplement facts and label development. Research ingredients and assess new materials for technical and commercial viability. Maintain detailed formulation records in accordance with cGMP and internal protocols. Assist in technology transfer and oversee initial production runs. Interact with internal R&D groups and partners in conducting efficacy and formulation studies. Lead and influence others to meet project timelines. Identify, manage and contribute to external formulation collaborations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). Understand and apply pre-formulation and formulation development concepts. Contribute to multiple projects through independent research and development. Possess knowledge of cGMP, quality concepts, and applicable FDA regulations. Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field. 2–5 years of experience in formulation or product development within nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, or related food industry; bench-to-batch scale-up experience preferred. Experience with soft gels, powders, and liquids; ability to lead formulation projects. Working knowledge of FDA regulations and cGMPs. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail and documentation practices. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
