Overview
The Hilton Milwaukee is seeking a strong
Director of Human Resources . This professional will support the human capital needs of our historic convention hotel. As the HR Director, you will report to the Hotel's General Manager and directly oversee the Human Resource services provided for the Hilton Milwaukee, the newly branded The Marc Hotel, as well as Miller Time Pub and our Milwaukee market shared Accounting, Sales and Reservations offices, totaling approximately 360 associates. As a key member of the Executive Committee, your insights and leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping the hotel's strategic vision. The Hilton Milwaukee recently completed a $40 million renovation to elevate guest rooms, event spaces, and the grand lobby. Connected to the expanded Baird Center, it is Milwaukee's largest hotel and a historic gem. Built in 1927 as the Schroeder Hotel, we offer 554 guest rooms and over 34,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Oversee all areas of Human Resources administration, including associate relations, recruiting and onboarding, training and development, benefits administration, leave of absence, workers compensation, policy compliance, union relations, culture building, and community involvement. Lead labor relationships with two unions, including contract negotiations, contract compliance, contract training, and grievances. Provide guidance on associate relations issues such as investigations, coaching/counseling, and policy enforcement. Recommend, evaluate and support Hilton and Marcus Hotels' brand training and development programs, and stay current with industry trends to implement enhancements. Facilitate annual goal setting, performance reviews, salary increases, and bonus payouts for all eligible associates. Develop annual budgets for salaried labor and HR operating expenses with monthly forecast accuracy. Act as a member of the Executive Committee and collaborate with peers to best support operational departments. Serve as a strategic partner who develops high-potential leaders and advocates for their progression. Champion associate recognition and service-excellence programs, including employee of the month, celebrating guest surveys, cross-department appreciation, and elevated service standards. Ensure communication of and compliance with all policies, standards and practices, as well as federal, state and local employment laws. Provide HR generalist oversight related to compensation, benefits, leave of absence, workers compensation, safety and security compliance. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field. 10+ years of total HR experience including talent acquisition, associate relations, training and development, benefits administration, etc. 5+ years of HR leadership experience, preferably in hotel, resort or hospitality settings. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all levels of the organization. Budget management experience preferred. Familiarity with HRIS or ATS tools (e.g., PeopleSoft, Taleo) is helpful. Past Hilton brand experience is desirable but not required. Experience in union environments is beneficial. Benefits
