Universal City, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Compensation:

$130,000 – $165,000 annually + bonus + long-term incentive eligibility

An industry-leading global media and entertainment organization is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join its Corporate HR team supporting its Entertainment and Sports divisions!

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly forming, high-growth media company at a transformative time. The Director, HR will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders across Entertainment and Sports functions—helping to shape organizational design, drive employee engagement, and support talent development and retention.

Reporting to the SVP of HR, Corporate, this role will play a key part in creating and implementing forward-thinking HR initiatives that elevate both business performance and the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a strategic HR business partner to leaders across the Entertainment and Sports divisions, aligning HR strategies with business priorities.

Provide guidance on organization design, workforce planning, succession management, and performance development.

Partner with leaders and Talent Acquisition to design and execute innovative recruitment strategies that attract diverse and high-performing talent.

Drive and support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, development, and recognition.

Coach and advise leaders on performance feedback, employee relations, and effective leadership practices.

Lead and support strategic HR projects that advance culture, DEI, and business growth across multiple teams.

Ensure consistency in application of HR policies, compliance, and employment practices.

Collaborate cross-functionally with HR Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, and Talent Development) to deliver scalable, impactful HR programs.

Qualifications:

7+ years of professional-level experience in Human Resources, HR Business Partnership, or People Operations.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Proven experience in organizational design, employee relations, talent management, and performance coaching.

Strong understanding of HR laws, compliance, and best practices in large-scale organizations.

Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the media, entertainment, or production industry.

Prior experience leading and developing HR teams.

Track record of successfully implementing strategic HR programs and change management initiatives.
