Opportunity Future focused and always one step ahead! As a member of the E&S Casualty team, you will produce, underwrite, and retain profitable primary casualty business while cultivating and maintaining broker relationships.
Responsibilities
Underwrite, market, quote, bind, and retain a profitable book of excess and surplus lines business that meets profitability and growth targets.
Develop and execute production strategies and business plans to implement growth objectives and rate goals. Coordinate with other Munich Re business units to offer holistic solutions.
Measure and optimize portfolio progress by reviewing underwriting data and monitoring industry best practices.
Build and maintain professional wholesale broker relationships.
Represent Munich Re at client events, seminars, and meetings.
Assist with day‑to‑day operations and projects that have client and corporate impact.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in insurance and/or reinsurance focusing on E&S casualty lines.
Excellent underwriting, marketing, and analytical skills.
Advanced insurance certifications (e.g., CPCU) preferred.
Strong knowledge of Commercial P&C/E&S products, underwriting processes, laws, and regulations.
Proficiency with pricing models, tools, and risk evaluation models.
Track record of building and maintaining broker relationships.
Tech-savvy and willing to learn new technologies.
Strategic and tactical thinking.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to convey vision.
Ability to negotiate complex agreements with brokers.
Effective time‑management and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel 20%–30%.
Salary & Benefits Base salary range: $99,700 – $166,100, plus eligibility for a company bonus based on a percentage of eligible pay. Benefits include health insurance coverage, employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401(k) match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
