Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

1 year of experience in Visual Design, Motion Design, and UX Design.

Experience with branding graphic design.

Preferred qualifications

1 year of experience leading design projects.

Experience with display advertising.

Knowledge of design patterns and brand identity systems.

Knowledge of design thinking methodologies.

Ability to lead and ideate products and improve features, all with a user-centered design process.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and knowledge of technical constraints and limitations as they apply to responsive design for platforms such as desktop and mobile.

Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi‑disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers: we care deeply about the people who use our products. We collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create industry‑leading products that deliver value for the people who use them, and for Google’s businesses.

As a Visual Designer, you’ll rely on user‑centered design methods to craft industry‑leading user experiences—from concept to execution. Like all of our UX jobs, you’ll collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $110,000–$157,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions, while building relationships with partners across YouTube.

Communicate the user experience throughout the design process using wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and high‑fidelity prototypes.

Integrate user feedback and business requirements into product updates, and advocate for the prioritization of design‑centered changes and improvements.

Develop the team's competency in aesthetics and composition by building a community of practice focused on visual design principles, and help align the team's visual direction and standards.

Lead the development and production of motion, illustration, and design systems for asset‑based creatives on YouTube, including the creation of documentation.
