Site Reliability Engineer
Position is remote but candidates must be located in the Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone.
This role begins as a contract, but has the opportunity to extend indefinitely. We have numerous examples of contractors transitioning to full‑time, often after demonstrating strong performance.
Join the CICD and Cloud Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team during an exciting time. SREs operate at the intersection of software and infrastructure engineering, striving to make PlayStation highly reliable, scalable, operable and secure across the entire platform.
As a member of the CICD and Cloud Reliability team, you’ll work at the heart of the network to ensure a high‑performing, highly available, and highly reliable platform. You’ll design, build, deploy, and operate cloud infrastructure and CICD services at scale, while exercising troubleshooting skills on issues ranging from code errors to network packet loss.
Responsibilities
Contribute to a team of engineers to deliver and support highly available, self‑service CI/CD capabilities.
Showcase uncompromising ownership of outcomes and deliverables.
Adhere to software development best practices.
Serve as a role model for customer‑focused delivery for internal and external customers.
AWS experience is required.
Collaborate across organizational boundaries to deliver exceptional developer and platform capabilities.
Drive operational excellence within the team.
Build and foster agile engineering capabilities and quality engineering practices.
Be a results‑driven person with great energy.
Be a forward‑looking engineer with execution know‑how to elevate SIE to the next level of CI/CD.
Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
4+ years of professional site reliability experience operating at scale in a high‑pace environment.
5+ years of hands‑on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and alerting.
Experience building Kubernetes clusters from scratch, preferably using EKS.
Extensive use of automation for infrastructure as code, preferably via Terraform.
Strong development experience in either Python or Go.
Experienced user of one or more source code management tools, preferably Git.
Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery/deployment tools like Jenkins and ArgoCD.
Strong understanding of system design.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $75.00 – $85.00 per hour.
