Manager, Analysis Engineering (Space Systems) Location

1 Responsibilities
Advances the engineering capabilities of the company. Utilizes existing tools to achieve improved analysis capabilities, including dynamic analysis (MATLAB), FEA structural and thermal analysis, CAD (PTC Creo), and internally developed analysis techniques. Serves as a technical resource in the application of existing, new, and advanced engineering theories, concepts, principles, and processes. Helps interpret customer/marketing requirements to generate technical/product specifications meeting customer needs. Meets changing requirements in an organized fashion, including stringent design requirements, delivery dates, and cost goals, with high-quality products. Actively participates in the development of Marotta's business and engineering strategy to achieve financial and business goals. Develops, manages, and maintains engineering knowledge, expertise, and internal and external resources to support past, current, and developing products and services. Recommends changes and suggests new programs. Prepares engineering proposals, estimates, and project plans to meet customer requirements or internal needs. Monitors and tracks (time, money, quality) project progress, and adjusts when needed. Informs internal and external customers about project progress and latest expectations. Develops and maintains applicable systems for developing, documenting, and maintaining engineering products and specifications in a secure, accessible, and effective manner. Recruits, hires, orients, manages, develops, motivates, recognizes, rewards, and, where necessary, disciplines and terminates personnel. Develops external relationships with customers, consultants, and vendors to extend engineering competencies and resources required to address Marotta's business needs. Addresses potential issues proactively and applies real-time problem-solving to achieve prompt resolution. Continually addresses improvement opportunities. Prepares and manages project and department budgets. Allocates resources and materials, and schedules equipment for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Manages training requirements for applicable team members, facilitating training, as needed, to maintain a cross-trained workforce and support operational goals and objectives. Develops and manages internal and external Engineering resources. Essential or Primary / Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering. 5 years' relevant work experience in a high-tech environment (Aerospace and Military). Demonstrated, relevant leadership experience. Experience performing structural and linear dynamics, and heat transfer analyses using finite element analysis tools such as Abaqus or Ansys. Familiar/experienced with vibration, shock, and thermal cycling fatigue calculations on electrical components. Familiar/experienced with thermal stress. Familiar/experienced with CFD analyses using Star-CCM+ or other software. Exemplary verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel, as well as any outside agents, including but not limited to: vendors, suppliers, customers, potential job candidates, etc. Highly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc. Must be a U.S. citizen. Additional Duties / Responsibilities
Concludes initiatives and activities in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required). Abides by and confirms company-wide adherence to all safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal system requirements. Promotes and fosters a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication, at all levels, internal and external to the organization. Organizes and leads team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc., to provide constructive recommendations and prompt support of company initiatives/goals. Consistently demonstrates commitment to company values. Keeps Executive management informed of area activities and any significant problems. Assumes responsibility for related duties, as required or assigned. Ensures that personal work area and work areas of direct reports are clean, secure, and well-maintained. Completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments, as required. Work Environment
The employee may be exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise, and vibration. This job requires interaction both in a professional office and manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, as well as eye, hearing, and foot protection (as required), appropriate for the environment. Local and non-local travel is required for this position (5-10%). Physical Requirements
The employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and use hands to probe, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit for prolonged periods, stand, walk, and move about the facility. The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
