An established, employee-owned transportation engineering firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team. This leadership-focused role is ideal for entrepreneurial professionals ready to manage a diverse portfolio of bridge and structural design projects across a wide range of transportation systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of both current and future projects, serving as a technical lead, project manager, and client liaison. Key Responsibilities
Lead design of bridge and structural projects, ranging from small drainage structures to large multi-span bridges. Prepare designs for concrete and steel girder bridges; rail structure experience is a plus. Serve as a senior project engineer and primary client point of contact. Participate in project interviews, client meetings, and public presentations. Provide construction support, including submittal reviews, responses to RFIs, and site visits. Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and contribute to marketing strategies. Lead the preparation of proposals, reports, specifications, plans, and structural designs. Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and project standards. Mentor junior engineers and assist with workload forecasting and team planning. Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required) Master's degree preferred Experience : 10-15 years of experience in structural design, including bridges, retaining walls, foundations, and culverts Advanced proficiency with structural analysis and design software Strong knowledge of AASHTO standards Experience with transportation infrastructure design preferred Certifications : Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license (or be eligible to obtain) All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
