Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer Job Summary
POWER Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).
Responsibilities
Support the department in producing high-quality designs consistent with POWER's mission and culture.
Assist in the detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations, including:
One-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, station physical layouts, sections/elevations, cable and conduit plans and details, ground grid design, foundation plans, structural plans, control enclosure design, lightning protection, yard lighting, bills of materials, and site visits.
Support QA/QC processes for deliverables.
Learn and adhere to client standards and processes, working individually or within a team to complete complex designs.
Occasional travel may be required.
Required Education/Experience
BSEE or BSEET degree from an accredited university, preferably with a power option.
Strong electrical engineering knowledge.
Good written and oral communication skills in English.
Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Desired Education/Experience
Up to 3 months of relevant electrical engineering work experience (internship or co-op).
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Knowledge of electrical utility substations and design.
Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate or passed the FE exam.
