Overview
Under minimal supervision, the part-time HVAC Technician maintains and repairs heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems within Angel Stadium
Job Details This is a non-benefit eligible, bargaining unit position, hourly pay for Journeyman level for this position is $39.38 per hour. Union dues are $23 per month and an additional 1.25%.
This position is also eligible for sick time (after 90 days of employment) and 401k employee contributions after 3 months and complimentary tickets to games (12 per season).
The typical schedule is 2pm to 11pm for evening events and 7am to 3pm for daytime events.
Responsibilities
Participates in the daily operation, and repair of all HVAC, refrigeration, and related equipment at Angel Stadium of Anaheim
Maintains air conditioning systems, air handlers, filters, blowers, chillers, water treatment and other HVAC components
Maintains steam boilers, hot water systems, gas heating equipment, food service equipment, ice makers, and refrigeration equipment
Installs new equipment and modifies existing equipment
Overhauls and repairs reciprocating and centrifugal air compressors
Repairs electrical motors and HVAC components up to 480 volts after the main disconnect; replaces bearings, pump seals and packing
Programs and operates the computerized energy management system
Installs and maintains environmental controls
Performs related job duties as required
Qualifications
Journeyman level skill as an HVAC mechanic
Knowledge of various types of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and A/C equipment including closed loop chilled water systems
Skills in basic equipment and mechanical troubleshooting techniques
Experience repairing heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment
Must be capable of using a computer for office tasks, and equipment control
Possession of a valid Driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
Physical Demands
Ability to use both hands, arms and legs
Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing and reaching
Ability to lift up to 100-pounds
Ability to maintain proper balance
Ability to frequently stand and walk, climb stairs and ladders
Ability to frequently work in confined or high spaces
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases
Subject to working near moving parts of heavy machinery and high voltage equipment where the use of appropriate protective/safety equipment is required
Subject to working in adverse weather conditions
Work includes indoors and outdoors environment
