Shift: Sunday‑6pm‑2:30am and Monday‑Thursday 9pm‑5:30am.
Pay Range: $52.55‑$58.40 per hour. Employees may be eligible to receive a 10% shift differential for second shift hours and a 15% shift differential for third shift hours. Salary offers depend on experience, education, and certifications. Successful candidates may receive an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities
Consistently and independently perform the most complex level of clinical tests following required procedures and policies. Perform newly introduced tests that require defined skills.
Oversee the preparation of reagents or media as well as stock solutions, standards, and controls. Test new reagents or controls and evaluate their usefulness based on standard criteria.
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria in testing procedures.
Determine calculated results utilizing testing data by means of manual or computerized procedures.
Accurately enter results of testing. Check computer review reports to monitor accurate reporting of results. Adhere to analytical schedules to maintain turnaround times of results.
Evaluate the acceptability of routine and complex analysis prior to releasing patient reports. Recognize and take appropriate action in response to critical values or unusual or unexpected results, and document action taken.
Responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Evaluate the results of instrument performance checks. Perform linearity, accuracy and precision checks as required.
Perform quality control and calibrations with the appropriate frequency and evaluate results to determine acceptability of result release.
Select and evaluate control materials using established criteria. Initiate a corrective action process whenever test systems do not perform according to established criteria.
Accurately perform and record proficiency testing.
Demonstrate the ability to detect and correct technical and operational problems. Notify the supervisor, and contact manufacturer or field service support for additional assistance, if necessary.
Ensure accurate tracking and labeling of reagents and supplies.
Consistently maintain a safe and neat work area.
Train staff in proper performance of both routine and complex procedures. Support training programs, where applicable.
Assist the supervisor to update and maintain the computer database for their area of testing responsibility and/or the department.
Work with group lead and supervisory staff to schedule effective weekly workloads.
Assist department supervisor or manager by providing technical direction to staff members. May provide feedback to supervisor on individual and/or team learning progress.
Actively participate in staff meetings, and in quality improvement meetings as assigned.
Takes on additional business‑related responsibilities or projects, as delegated by the supervisor or manager. This may include but not be limited to evaluation of new techniques and procedures in terms of personnel and requirements, method comparison, cost analysis, establishment of reference ranges, writing and revising technical procedures, and evaluation of productivity and key results measures.
Collect and dispose of waste in proper receptacles.
Demonstrate a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
Provide constant direction to unlicensed staff as required.
Maintain professional growth and development through continuing education. The continuing education must meet the education requirements for California state licensure.
Answer phones, transfer, or take accurate messages.
Comply with all health and safety policies, procedures, and practices. Required to use personal protective equipment.

The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Objects in the weight range of 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects in the weight range of 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; and objects in the weight range of 26 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted and carried. Objects exceeding 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks. Frequent simple grasping, reaching and fine manipulation.
Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
Have good eye and hand coordination.
Testing for color blindness will be required upon hiring or transfer into technical functions requiring detection of, or rating of intensity of colors (e.g., fluorescent microscopy reading).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
