Job Purpose The Hazardous Waste/Material Handler will be responsible for the safe handling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous ma, ensuring compliance with environmental re and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
Identify hazardous materials and sort them for proper handling and disposal.
Maintain accurate records of hazardous materials handled, including disposal methods and quantities.
Conduct regular inspections of hazardous waste storage areas and ensure proper maintenance.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to protect public health and environment
Safely package hazardous waste and transport it to designated disposal facility ensuring compliance with local state and federal requirements.
Work with environmental for audits and inspections
Other duties as assigned.
Required
U.S. Citizenship is required
Job Located at U.S. Government Facility
This position requires a U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individual must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for employment
High School; Associates or Higher.
Preferred
Certification in hazardous materials handling or related safety training is a plus
Proven experience in waste management particularly with hazardous materials
Strong knowledge of safety regulations, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to operate heavy machinery is essential.
