School Campus Monitor
Classified position is announced to all qualified applicants. Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The School Campus Monitor works 5.9 hours per day, 174 days per year, grade 5, and earns $18.66 per hour (2025‑2026 Support Salary Table). Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase.
Job Overview:
Under direct supervision of the Principal or Assistant Principal, the School Campus Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure school environment. Duties include patrols of school corridors, locker rooms, restrooms, assembly and athletic facilities, gymnasiums, bus loading areas, and school grounds; monitoring buildings and grounds for unauthorized persons and suspicious activities; investigating incidents and notifying school administrators; and diffusing threatening situations and confrontations in a constructive manner. The position also supports student attendance by ensuring students reach class on time and assist with campus security duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
Knowledge & Ability
Effective computer technology skills; CCTV experience preferred.
Effective problem solving, organizational, multi‑tasking, judgment and time management skills.
Demonstrated competence in reading, writing, and basic math.
Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of basic first‑aid. CPR training preferred.
Ability to work with disruptive or non‑cooperative students.
Ability to maintain control in stressful situations.
