Position Overview We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale, mission-critical initiatives within the government or public sector. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to deliver complex projects under tight deadlines while ensuring quality, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction. A strong background in SNAP systems and public assistance program modernization is highly desirable.
This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills to drive multi-disciplinary teams toward successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Execution: develop and maintain detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.
Identify project risks proactively and establish effective mitigation strategies.
Ensure projects are executed within defined scope, budget, and schedule.
Drive project progress aggressively to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Stakeholder Management: collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project objectives and ensure alignment.
Provide clear and consistent communication on project status, milestones, and risks.
Manage stakeholder expectations throughout all project phases, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Team Coordination: lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams comprising developers, DBAs, infrastructure, and IT staff.
Foster an environment of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
Resolve team conflicts and ensure alignment toward project goals.
Budget and Resource Management: manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring optimal utilization of financial and human resources.
Accurately forecast costs and prepare financial performance reports.
Efficiently allocate and reassign resources as project priorities evolve.
Quality Assurance & Compliance: oversee comprehensive testing and validation processes to ensure system performance and data integrity.
Maintain meticulous documentation of configurations, migration processes, and issues encountered.
Implement corrective action plans and drive continuous compliance improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager leading large‑scale government or public‑sector projects.
Strong ability to deliver projects aggressively under tight deadlines.
Background in SNAP systems or related public assistance programs is highly desirable.
Expertise in stakeholder engagement, communication, and change management.
PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
Experience in corrective action planning, compliance improvement, and risk management.
Strong command of project planning, budgeting, and resource management tools (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira).
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Exceptional time management with the ability to prioritize effectively in fast‑paced environments.
