Role Details
Duration: 6 months or longer
Schedule: 1st Shift (9/80A)
Responsibilities
Use predetermined methods, operations, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in‑process and completed products.
Perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, functional) on spacecraft components.
Use various measuring devices such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, pin gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machine.
Make decisions on acceptance, rejection, or rework of work and tests performed.
Inspect and test mechanical, electrical, or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft components and sub‑assemblies.
Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
Work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required.
High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role.
Experience utilizing measuring devices such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, pin gauges, and other inspection tools.
Knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, specifications, and related criteria.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong computer skills.
Good written and oral communication skills with ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results.
Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.
Experience in aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.
