Construction Project Manager – School Modernizations The General Construction Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of school modernization projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of educational facility requirements. The Project Manager will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.

Coordinate design and construction phases, ensuring alignment with educational facility standards.

Lead pre‑construction meetings, site walkthroughs, and progress reviews.

Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.

Review architectural and engineering drawings for constructability and compliance.

Ensure adherence to local, state, and DSA codes, including ADA and LEED standards.

Monitor quality control and safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Serve as the primary liaison between school administrators, district officials, architects, engineers, and contractors.

Facilitate communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.

Provide regular updates and reports to internal leadership and external clients.

Prepare bid packages and assist with contractor selection.

Negotiate contracts and manage change orders.

Track expenditures and ensure cost control measures are in place.

Clear understanding of prevailing wage laws and requirements.

Schedule construction activities to minimize disruption to school operations.

Coordinate with school staff to ensure safe access and egress during construction.

Address unique challenges of working in occupied school environments.

Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.

Prepare and submit permit applications.

Monitor daily construction activities and resolve field issues.

Maintain project documentation and logs, including cost changes, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.

Lead final inspections and ensure timely project closeout.

Qualifications (Optional Section for Job Ad)

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field experience.

5+ years of experience managing school construction projects.

Strong knowledge of design‑build and lease‑lease‑back delivery methods.

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project).

OSHA certification and familiarity with prevailing wage requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

Two weeks of annual vacation.
