Job Overview We are seeking a

Senior Planning Engineer

with extensive experience in planning and implementing

Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM)

networks. The ideal candidate will be adept at interpreting fiber characterization results and developing strategic plans for circuit identification, overbuilds, and grooming. This role demands a self‑driven professional who thrives under tight deadlines and minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Initiate projects using the most feasible, practical, and economical methods.

Perform engineering work including design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of equipment and devices.

Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, and configuring communication media.

Resolve interoperability issues across platforms (email, file transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing, etc.).

Configure systems to meet user environments.

Support acquisition and implementation of hardware, software, and subcontractor services.

May serve as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to other team members.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience.

Proven expertise in designing, planning, and deploying DWDM networks.

Proficient in interpreting fiber characterization results (OTDR, CD, PMD).

Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Excellent analytical skills for identifying network issues and developing effective solutions.

Experience in planning and engineering moderately complex assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Collaborative mindset for working with internal teams, vendors, and customers.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proactive in identifying opportunities for network improvements.
