Field Service Technician – Total Warehouse
Perform periodic maintenance, repair, replacement, and limited troubleshooting on various models of forklifts and competitive material handling equipment. Interface daily with customers to establish and maintain lifetime relationships and satisfy their equipment service needs.
Job Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all makes of lift trucks and components.
Perform all assigned Planned Maintenance (PM) on customer lift trucks.
Perform proper PMs and engine tune‑ups on most makes of equipment without supervision in a timely manner.
Operate service van in a clean, safe, and secure manner following all required safety rules.
Assist with training/mentoring apprentice mechanics through on‑the‑job training.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills by interfacing with clients professionally.
Identify and order all necessary replacement parts.
Test lift equipment to ensure repairs were completed correctly.
Ensure batteries for electric forklift trucks are fully charged.
Inspect lift equipment to ensure it is working properly and safely.
Use TW Mobile application to process service calls and ensure all work order details are accurate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
3 to 5 years of mechanical experience in lift truck repair, automotive, large equipment or related trade school education.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
Excellent mechanical repair, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues, read service and repair manuals, and read work orders.
Proficiency with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical system schematics.
Ability to perform repairs and replacement of major system components with limited supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work at a fast pace under pressure.
Physical Requirements
Regularly talk or hear, stand, walk, hand use, reach with hands and arms.
Work safely in a noisy area with odors present.
Regularly lift 50 lb and occasionally lift up to 100 lb.
Inspect equipment to determine repairs needed.
Good vision to inspect repair work.
Bend, stretch, push, pull, move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
Access all parts of forklift truck, kneeling or lying on back.
Salary Salary Range: $29–$34 per hour
