What You Will Do
This position entails working at a desk while monitoring a computer screen in a controlled environment. This position will work directly with the QP&E team.
You will use training and/or education in Quality processes, including on the job training in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) inspection techniques.
Knowledge of Matec and IRT (Infrared thermography) Ultrasonic systems is preferred.
Complete classroom theory, OFT and certification examination as required by Pratt & Whitney NDT qualifications.
Must be able to obtain NDT Level 2 Certification within designated timeframe as required by Pratt & Whitney.
Re‑certification required at intervals specified by Pratt & Whitney qualifications.
Conduct Ultrasonic Inspections using IRT or Matec Systems.
Perform daily walk around of equipment, maintain cleanliness of inspection area and be capable of troubleshooting equipment issues.
Responsible for analyzing computer‑generated data and signing off product inspections.
Perform all setup requirements per work instructions and report performance goals.
Conduct Ultrasonic inspection functions in a manufacturing environment.
Perform quality review metallurgical dispositions following procedures as required.
Work with Material Control Lab and manufacturing personnel to investigate problems encountered through inspection and determine their effect upon the part.
Understand internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings.
Read engineering blueprints.
Read and use precision measurement devices.
Keep detailed records, and report performance goals.
Qualifications You Must Have
High School Diploma or equivalent education (GED).
1 to 5 years of experience in a quality/aerospace manufacturing environment.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Ability to pass a Jaeger‑1 Eye Exam.
Working background in Quality, or background in an NDT Method, or background in math/science, or background in aerospace manufacturing environment with a concentration in engineering/quality/process controls.
Qualifications We Value
Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and quality procedures.
Understanding of internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings.
Deeper Knowledge of Matec and IRT Ultrasonic systems, including balls calibrations, transducer characterization, zero‑point offsets, etc.
Good organizational skills.
