Buddy’s Kitchen was started in 1974 by our founder Buddy ‘Nils” Eian. Our first product was a handmade omelet for airlines that we still make today. We specialize in frozen, ready-to-eat food and great customer relationships. Most of our business is developing quality custom food products for our customers. – Supportive, healthy internal relationships. ROLE SUMMARY Associate Production Manager supervises Associates ensuring they complete their duties and follow all procedures with customer focus, quality, safety, and cost in mind. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Oversee the Associates- direction, development and coaching. Acts as backup and assumes the schedule of the Production Manager if absent. Review daily production schedule. Manage staffing to ensure completion of orders. Ensure the products produced are of the highest quality, watching for proportions and correct placement of components in each build. Implement and maintain the 5S program on the production floor. Make sure sanitation is constantly removing waste, garbage, and other material from the floor. Adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Adherence to SQF (Safe Quality Food). Adherence to all safety policies. Plan and schedule the next day’s production run. Ensure daily paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Review reports, analyze, investigate, and implement corrective actions to resolve issues. Regular and predictable attendance. Maintain behaviors that support our CORE VALUES. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly supervises production Associates. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience and /or training are required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS HACCP certification is recommended. Professional organization membership is recommended. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Effective leadership and time management skills. ERP knowledge. Good computer skills in areas such as MS Office, Projects, MRP type program. Ability to read and understand financial documents. Sound written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, time-critical environment. Food assembly experience is a plus multi-shift management experience is a plus. WORKING CONDITIONS PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is frequently exposed to cold and wet environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. REQUIRED TRAINING This position requires training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality, and process efficiency.
