Responsibilities
Perform skilled work in the maintenance, repair, modification, installation, and commissioning of electrical, electronic, pneumatic equipment, instruments, controls, computer systems, LAN, Ethernet, SCADA, and related control systems.
Calibrate, program, install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic systems including power distribution equipment, motors, motor controls, instrumentation, alarms, telemetering, HVAC systems, sampling equipment, metering devices, and computer hardware.
Develop PLC projects from design through commissioning using ladder logic, function block, structured text, and sequential function charts; perform PLC testing, wiring, conduit layout, enclosure installation, and panel building.
Build distributed control systems and install control devices such as actuators, variable frequency drives, and instrumentation.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and design low‑voltage (≤1,000 V) to medium‑voltage (1,000 – 100,000 V) control and distribution equipment.
Design, configure, calibrate, repair, and monitor telemetry devices including antennas, lightning protection, and radio devices; perform predictive maintenance.
Install, maintain, repair, and calibrate electronic instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature, vibration, air monitoring, analytical equipment); build panels and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, and loop drawings.
Assist in on‑the‑job training of apprentice Electrician Instrumentation Technicians.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; completion of a four‑year apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of standard electrical, solid‑state electronic, and pneumatic instrument practices; familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
Experience with CMMS, GE Intelligent Platforms, iFix SCADA, GE Machine Edition ladder logic programming, Allen‑Bradley RSLogix 500, ABB software packages, and PLC/DCU control systems.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, and control schematics.
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
