NETWORK MANAGER CATEGORY/LEVEL:

PSS/11 BASIC FUNCTION:

This role requires a strategic and hands-on approach to effectively develop and maintain the institution's data and voice networks, including Local and Wide Area Networks, cloud-based networks, hyperconverged infrastructure, and voice solutions. Ensure the stability, security, and continuous improvement of the institution's network infrastructure through policies, processes, and technologies. Participate in the planning and assist with the deployment and management of network devices. START DATE:

January 2026 SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Starting salary of $61,100 to $76,300 based on experience. Benefits package includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield major medical health insurance; eye care, dental, life and disability insurance; paid vacation and sick leave; a choice of IPERS or TIAA retirement plans, and a variety of additional optional benefits.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two-year postsecondary education required plus two or more years of experience in network administration. Coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, network administration or a related field and experience in the management of network devices and cloud solutions. Interpersonal skills a must in order to relate well to persons at all levels of computer competency. Due to the unlimited access to the computer systems, a high degree of confidentiality is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Four-year degree preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties

Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure components, including, but not limited to, firewalls, switches, routers, servers, VPN services, and wireless network devices. Design, configure, and manage network computing and storage devices, including converged and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions. Implement and support cloud-based computing and storage solutions. Provide technical support for network-based devices and software. Monitor and document the campus network. In collaboration with the network infrastructure team, manage the institution's on-premise and off-premise voice communication systems. As a member of the network infrastructure team, manage the institution's on-premise and off-premise electronic mail environment. Oversee internal network security through administration of firewalls, access and technology policies, and anti-spam and antivirus systems. In collaboration with the network infrastructure team, ensure the virtual desktop environment (VDI) infrastructure is secure, scalable, and accessible for remote and on-site users. Troubleshoot issues and optimize performance for end-users. Ensure infrastructure technology continuity and recoverability in support of business processes. Maintain 'currency' of the network environment by managing and applying software updates and hardware upgrades; research and recommend potential technology upgrades. Participate in planning and management of technology projects and technology-related activities of College projects, including participation in project budget development and vendor management. Assist with the development of the network infrastructure budget, including equipment purchases and maintenance costs. Provide support and training to effectively and efficiently utilize the network services available. Train IT staff on best practices. Remain current with developments related to data and voice networking. Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Fulfill other responsibilities as needed or assigned. Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
