Job Summary Responsible for the success of the total teaching/learning process within the assigned classroom, laboratory, shop, or other learning environment.
Minimum Required Education
Associate degree, certification, or a combination of experience and education that yields the requested knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Minimum Required Experience
Preferred: Experience teaching in higher education within the instructional area being taught.
Recent experience (last three years) as a Medical Coder.
Preferred: Medical Training (i.e., Registered Nurse or Allied Health Training).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Medical training (RN, Medical Coder, Allied Health).
ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS, CPT.
Anatomy and Physiology.
Medical Terminology.
Detail oriented.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and multitasking.
Independent and team work.
Computer operation, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Critical thinking and problem‑solving.
Adherence to Hill College code of conduct.
Instructional technology, LMS, distance learning tools.
Maintenance of confidentiality.
Customer service skills.
Continuous learning.
Organization and time‑management skills.
Knowledge of state agency/accrediting agency guidelines.

Conducts class discussions, maintains familiarity with recent publications, participates in professional societies.
Contributes to development and review of curriculum.
Adheres to course syllabi and textbooks adopted.
Teaches assigned classes.
Maintains work area safe.
Submits paperwork timely.
