Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Accounting, Tenure Track Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Accounting, Tenure Track at its Detroit campus location. Responsibilities
Candidates are expected to conduct research suitable for publication in top-tier journals, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, with a strong preference for areas such as auditing and forensic accounting, actively participate in department and school activities, and perform other related duties as assigned. We expect the candidate to be a fully engaged participant in the life of the Mike Ilitch School of Business. The typical teaching load is two courses each in fall and winter semesters. Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in Accounting, or ABD status with completion expected by August 2026, from an AACSB-accredited business school. For appointment at the associate professor level, prior teaching experience and a strong record of scholarly publications are required. Desirable education and experience
Evidence of potential to publish in top-tier academic journals. Having interest and experience in teaching courses in auditing and forensic accounting, taxation, and non-for-profit / governmental accounting are highly preferable. Candidates who have the skills and knowledge to infuse emerging technologies (machine learnings and Artificial Intelligence) into the classroom and research are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be able to teach face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online courses in the Accounting Department’s undergraduate, MSA, and MBA programs. Documents required at time of application
