Research Scientist, DMPK (Contract) Overview

Our client, a leading precision medicine oncology company, is seeking a Research Scientist, DMPK with a strong background in analytical and bioanalytical chemistry to support in vitro and in vivo ADME studies.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands‑on scientist skilled in cellular incubation, biological sample extraction, and LC‑MS analysis. You’ll play a key role in characterizing drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics to accelerate the development of novel oncology therapeutics.

This role requires on‑site presence four days per week at the South San Francisco location.

Key Responsibilities

Perform cellular uptake and metabolite profiling assays.

Conduct biological sample preparation and LC‑MS analysis.

Process raw data, maintain accurate electronic lab notebook (ELN) records, and prepare study reports.

Contribute to bioanalytical method development and metabolite identification.

Identify and troubleshoot technical challenges, continuously improving analytical workflows.

Ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.

Maintain accurate records of samples, reagents, and experimental details.

Foster a collaborative and organized lab environment.

Qualifications

Education: B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in industry or an academic laboratory.

Knowledge of ADME and drug metabolism principles.

Proficiency in cellular incubation and biological sample processing.

Experience with LC‑MS and LC‑UV quantification of drugs, metabolites, or xenobiotics.

Strong record‑keeping and communication skills, with familiarity in maintaining ELN records.

Proficiency with software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad.

Experience with Sciex and Thermo mass spectrometers and related software (e.g., Analyst, Xcalibur) is highly desirable.
