We are seeking a
Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
to join our growing quality engineering practice, supporting a high-impact, long-term client in the financial services industry. This role combines deep technical expertise with a collaborative mindset — ideal for someone who thrives in both independent and team-driven environments. The right candidate will bring strong development and automation skills, an understanding of complex distributed systems, and an appreciation for the rigor required in financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks for APIs, UI, and backend systems.
Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and business analysts to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across application layers and environments.
Support and enhance cloud-based testing and deployment strategies.
Development & Systems
Proficiency in Java (versions 8–21) with strong knowledge of Lambdas, Streams API, and functional programming concepts.
Experience with Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Security, Data).
Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices integration.
Experience with RDBMS such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with application servers like Tomcat or JBoss.
Experience developing and testing APIs and integrations in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
QA & Test Automation
Proven experience creating and maintaining UI and API automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, or Karate.
Understanding of automation design patterns (e.g., Page Object Model).
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins).
Experience with API testing tools like Postman or RestAssured.
Hands‑on experience with Docker, Terraform, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
Exposure to AWS services such as IAM, S3, EC2, ECS, RDS, CloudFront, and Secrets Manager.
Strong understanding of Git workflows and automated delivery pipelines.
Nice to Have
Experience building decision‑support or trading applications in financial services.
Exposure to front‑end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
Familiarity with BDD tools (Cucumber) and VBA scripting.
Basic Linux and SQL knowledge.
