Overview
Software Engineering Lead Analyst (36522918) – Temp assignment (contract role). The position is a remote opportunity with preference for candidates near major Cigna locations (Bloomfield, CT; Morris Plains, NJ; Dallas, TX). Base pay range and other compensation details are provided by Magnit; actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Alternate title: Senior Data Analyst (within a Software Engineering group). Support the Client Reporting organization within Data & Analytics by engaging with Business & Analytics team relationships, enabling iterative delivery and measuring business value, and applying agile and product management best practices. Collaborate with Business and/or Technical Product Owners to understand and document business needs; help enable business value of data solutions and engage with teams accordingly. Partner with Analytics organization and Business Subject Matter Experts for methodology, calculations, and content. Analyze large datasets stored in data warehouses or data marts to identify relationships and patterns across Customer, Provider, Claims, Client, and Benefits data; operate autonomously with expert-level support as needed. Evaluate and adapt standard and complex techniques; develop models and procedures using healthcare domain knowledge to monitor trends within Data & Analytics Engineering. Facilitate discussions with the business to capture requirements for new data solutions, based on reporting and analytics best practices, data needs, and availability. Ensure data quality and present data insights clearly to demonstrate business value; read from SAS/SQL to infer transformations and map to new data sources for large-scale migrations. Ask clarifying questions to confirm business expectations; for reporting products, inquire about data sources, reference data, calculations, and logic. Review Test Plans with the TPO each sprint; ensure detailed testing scenarios and document outcomes in a clear, comprehensive manner. Conduct Requirements Gathering through interviews, workshops, or focus groups; document requirements clearly, measurably, and unambiguously. Perform Data Analysis using SQL to extract, transform, model, and visualize data to provide insights aligned with business requirements. Provide Data Insights by writing SQL queries to summarize large datasets and communicate findings to stakeholders; capture queries and metric definitions for reporting applications. Qualifications
Excellent analytics and reporting acumen, including experience building reports or performing data analysis related to trend management; strong analytical mindset required. Competence with cloud DBMS (e.g., Teradata Vantage, Snowflake, Delta Lake) and concepts such as database modeling, data migration, and BI; ability to quickly learn new technologies. 8+ years of experience in Analytics and/or Reporting. Working experience with SAS; strong hands-on SQL skills. Experience with large enterprise data warehouses/solutions. Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred; client reporting experience is a plus. 2+ years of Agile experience, preferably as a Business Analyst for analytic or reporting products; Jira or Rally experience for documenting requirements preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional interaction with senior leadership; high emotional intelligence (EQ). Experience managing and reporting on the performance of a product, including operational and outcomes metric tracking and goal setting. Experience measuring results and outcomes post-implementation. Strong business acumen; ability to track to goals and deadlines within the broader context. Excellent organizational skills; proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; comfortable operating with ambiguity. Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related mathematical discipline and/or 5 years of analytics/reporting experience. Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range: $62.00/year to $62.00/year (as provided by The Cigna Group). Alternate information indicates hourly pay range: $50.00/hour - $62.00/hour (dependent on location and experience). Final compensation is determined by Magnit. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met).
