As a

Security Professional - Shelter Patrol Rounds

in

Bronx, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas and help to deter security-related incidents through routine patrols. Your presence and attention to detail will contribute to a welcoming environment for everyone on site. You will interact with staff and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication while upholding Allied Universal's values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. Job Schedule:

Mon 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM, Tue 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM, Wed 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM, Thu 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM, Sun 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM

What You’ll Do

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education

Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams

Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service

Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner within the shelter location.

Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.

Observe and report any suspicious activities or individuals in and around the shelter location.

Assist shelter staff and visitors with inquiries while maintaining a professional and approachable presence.

Work closely with local authorities and/or emergency personnel as directed during incidents or emergencies.

Complete detailed and accurate written reports and documentation of all incidents, observations, and activities during each shift.

Availability across various days and shifts

Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments

A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company

Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available

Minimum Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.

Be able to provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.

Be at least 21 years of age.

Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.

Have experience with access control and/or badge systems.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
