Systems Engineering PSS Manager 2 . This position can be located in
Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO
and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Responsibilities Northrop Grumman Space Systems is hiring a Command & Launch (C&L) Systems Engineering Command & Control (C2) Product Engineering Physical Security Systems (PSS) Lead in support of the Sentinel Program. This role will be at the Manager 2 level. As the PSS lead, the responsibilities include:
Leading the systems engineering execution as the main focal point for the C&L product team for C2 PSS.
Managing the day‑to‑day operations of the PSS Integrated Node team.
Leading the implementation of the processes dictating requirements development, verification activities, use cases, and architecture development.
Working with both the C2 and C&L Product Development teams to develop and mature systems engineering content and artifacts using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methods.
Overseeing and managing the PSS team and leading the coordination and collaboration across the diverse C&L engineering design teams to manage the technical baseline.
Presenting at milestone reviews to program leadership and the customer.
Coordinating with various teams to develop, document, and maintain design solutions.
Providing career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room team of 8 to 12 Individual Contributors.
Managing personnel performance, process familiarization, training, and staffing of roles on projects.
As a Section Manager, the role also includes approximately 20% effort on Functional Homeroom responsibilities and 80% on technical leadership as PSS Lead. The successful candidate will have experience in systems engineering with skills in Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo), Requirements Management (DOORS), Verification Planning, and Interface definition and planning.
Essential Functions
Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees.
Provide ownership for the people, processes, and tools that support business areas and programs in achieving their missions.
Supporting FHR efforts in areas of process improvement, training and staffing.
CAM/WPL experience.
Knowledge of MBSE tools and methods.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application.
Experience managing people preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Engineering.
Experience with ICBM systems.
Previous experience leading technical teams.
General understanding of NG Engineering Processes.
Experience in training and mentoring junior engineers.
Experience in MBSE methodology.
Experience with Agile framework.
Minimum 1 year of demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
1 year of experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application or as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
At the time of application a current and within scope Sentinel Special Access Program (SAP).
Primary Level Salary Range : $142,200.00 - $224,000.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
