Job Title: Truck & Equipment Mechanic

Location: Laytonsville, MD

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Base Pay Range $18.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Position Description We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Truck & Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and two-cycle equipment. Candidates with practical experience in these areas are highly encouraged to apply.

Reports to: Shop Manager

Primary Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment

Perform mechanical work on a variety of assets, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop area

Ensure consistent upkeep and preservation of fleet vehicles and landscaping equipment

Accurately document and maintain service and repair records

Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication

Assist with other operational tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of hands‑on mechanical experience

Must possess a personal, comprehensive set of tools required to perform daily mechanical tasks efficiently and safely

Strong mechanical aptitude, especially with gas/diesel vehicles and landscaping equipment

Positive attitude, self‑motivated and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization

Excellent communication and organizational skills

High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

Ability to supply personal tools as needed for job responsibilities

Experience with diesel engines and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required
