Your Role Key responsibilities:
Serve as a technical tax resource for State and Local Taxes on M&A transactions, including tax structuring and tax due diligence (Tax Transaction Advisory Services) services.
Deliver state and local compliance services and value-added consulting solutions to clients through work on multi-state income tax, franchise tax, sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and property tax matters.
Apply technical analysis on a variety of buy and sell side transactions, including the State and Local tax implications of tax structuring projects, tax modeling of after-tax proceeds, review of transactions, and tax due diligence.
Assist with the implementation of tax planning opportunities in the SALT area identified during diligence and manage any findings identified.
Provide coaching and mentoring to staff in the advancement of their individual skills and competencies.
Develop and execute a practice development plan including networking, new client development, and client expansion activities.
Qualifications
5+ years recent tax experience in public accounting with a specialization in SALT tax.
Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree.
CPA or Bar License required.
Proficiency in tax planning and reporting issues relevant for corporate consolidated returns, S corporation returns, partnership returns, and state tax returns.
Experience advising clients on the tax implications of various transactions.
Experience supervising staff on engagements and managing client relationships.
Approximately 25% overnight travel required.
This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.
