Base pay range $96,000.00/yr - $124,000.00/yr
Genesis Capital (the “Company”) is one of the largest business purpose lenders in the country, focused on providing commercial real estate financing solutions to real estate developers who buy, renovate, and sell single‑family and/or multi‑family residential real estate. The Company is a subsidiary of Rithm Capital (parent company), a publicly traded mortgage real estate investment trust.
The Investment Analyst will ideally be a self‑motivated individual with a strong interest in real estate credit and equity investments. The Investment Analyst will be responsible for analyzing potential equity and debt investment in residential real‑estate projects. These tasks will include evaluating the sponsor, the strategy, the joint venture (JV) waterfall return economics, and following general market and economic environment conditions. The Investment Analyst will also be responsible for supporting credit and risk management portfolio analytics for Genesis’ lending business.
This role will require coordinating cross‑departmentally with Finance, Credit, Valuations, Construction, and other Genesis departments to deliver critical deal and portfolio level objectives for Genesis. As such the role requires superior analytical, communication, and technical skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently. Professionals in this function need to have an analytical mindset, exhibit intellectual curiosity, and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities
Perform a variety of analyses, financial modeling, industry, market and economic research on a wide variety of residential real‑estate transactions from both a debt and equity position.
Assist in evaluating real‑estate sponsors as potential JV partners with Genesis.
Assist in the analysis, due diligence and execution of Genesis’ JV equity investments.
Build and maintain detailed Excel financial models, including:
Real estate focused projections and return analyses (IRR, equity multiple, sensitivity tables).
Joint venture equity waterfalls with tiered promote structures.
Debt sizing and credit underwriting models.
Scenario and sensitivity analysis across capital structure outcomes.
Write investment memos and perform ad hoc analyses.
Track and update portfolio performance models and reporting templates.
Collaborate closely with Genesis’ other stakeholders in the Executive, Finance, Credit, Valuations, Construction and other departments.
Assist in the preparation and negotiating of term sheets for the Company’s real‑estate transactions.
Draft and present investment memos detailing the transactions, return profiles, the sponsors and the markets the projects are located in.
Performs related duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
2-4 years’ experience in real‑estate investments, credit, private equity, investment banking or related fields.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint
Experience with Microsoft Power BI a plus
Strong, analytical and quantitative skills.
Be an independent and creative self‑starter as well as a problem solver.
Be able to manage multiple projects and prioritize and execute effectively.
Strong business acumen.
Experience in real‑estate preferred.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
