Stanford University

The Center for Entrepreneurial Studies (CES) seeks an analyst to support the Search Fund Study at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB). Search Funds are an alternative entrepreneurial path, in which an entrepreneur identifies an existing company with untapped growth potential, raises funds to purchase the firm, and then leads the company as CEO to enhance its growth. The GSB has conducted research about the size and average returns experienced in this industry for several years. The 2026 Study will be close in style and analysis to the 2024 Search Fund Study.

The Research Analyst will work closely with the Associate Director of the Search Fund Project and top faculty to organize, analyze and compose the 2026 Search Fund Study.

We are seeking a collaborative Data Analyst to process and analyze complex survey and financial datasets. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in R with proven experience transforming survey data into insights while thriving in a collaborative environment with multiple senior‑level stakeholders.
