Overview

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. The PSR I will demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment. Performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. Maintains required records and documentation. Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.

Responsibilities

Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing according to established practices and procedures.

Explain procedures to patients and maintain an atmosphere of trust and confidence; perform blood draws in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties as directed, following established practices and procedures.

Maintain required records and documentation; contribute to a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public.

Maintain a safe and professional environment; demonstrate Leadership Behaviors with a focus on process excellence and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED. Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience: Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED. One or more years phlebotomy experience preferred. Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience a must.

Skills: Excellent phlebotomy skills (including pediatric and geriatric). Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

Offer/Employment Process When making any offer of employment to a successful candidate, Mindlance staff is responsible for informing the candidate of the client’s contingent offer of employment. Upon successful completion of the background check and drug screen, submission of all Mindlance paperwork along with any client-specific documents, the associate will be cleared for assignment. Once start instructions are received (typically the Friday prior to the start date), the associate will receive starting instructions from the account management team.

Education and Certifications

Relevant certifications: Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, WA).

Work Experience Details

Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED. 1+ years phlebotomy experience preferred.
