$33.37 - $39.14 per hour. In addition, $5.00 per hour shift pay for night shifts, $1.00 for PM shift, and $1.50 for weekend pay.

Job Summary:
The Veterans Home RN provides professional nursing services in a long‑term care setting at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home. Responsibilities include caring for veterans, maintaining records, and ensuring quality health care.
Licenses and Certifications Must be licensed and able to work as a registered nurse in South Dakota.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have Registered Nurse License and associate degree, bachelor degree, or 3‑year diploma. New graduates welcome. On‑the‑job training is available. All certificates and/or tests required for performance at this level must be obtained and/or completed.
Knowledge Of
Professional Nursing Theory and practices;
Recent developments in the field of professional nursing applicable to the area of assignment;
Clinical procedures.
Ability To
Keep records;
Follow instructions;
Operate a variety of medical equipment;
Make reports on observations;
Apply general nursing techniques and practices;
Maintain a helpful and sympathetic attitude toward patients;
Communicate effectively;
Deal effectively with patients and staff.

Screenings and Conditions Applicants must undergo a background investigation, abuse and neglect screening, and a drug screening. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening. The State of South Dakota does not sponsor work visas for new or existing employees.
